Karen Stewart (Gubler)

Karen Stewart Gubler

Karen Stewart Gubler, age 70, passed away on March 22, 2017 surrounded by her family.  She was born on December 4, 1946 in Delta, Utah, the fourth of eight children born to Peter Pearson Stewart and Hazel Sampson. She grew up in Las Vegas and graduated from Las Vegas High in 1965. She married Jerald Royce Gubler on September 20, 1968 in the St. George LDS temple.  They had 9 children, 30 grandchildren and one great grandchild.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.

Karen spent her life in constant service to others.  She loved serving her family and spoiling her grandchildren.  She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and served in many different capacities in her church, offering complete devotion to whatever calling she was asked to serve in.  She had an amazing talent of making everyone she came in contact with feel like they were the most important person in the world and was a loving friend to all she met.  She loved sharing her testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ with her family through letters, e-mails, texts, and her constant example of righteous living and her emulation of her Savior.  She was selfless and the epitome of charity.  Her family was her whole life...

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Royce; their nine children, Charissa (Brian) Stastny, Andrea (Paul) Chambers, Todd (Coy) Gubler, Tiffany (Larry) Skelton, Don (Marcy) Gubler, Heidi (Kolby) Kartchner, Liesl (Taylor) Warburton, Tenille (Brady) Blackett, and Stewart Gubler; her seven siblings, LaRaine (Ben) Judd, Ronald  (Arline) Stewart, Charlotte (Steve) Hennefer, Howard (Nalani) Stewart, Janette (Randy) Rempe, RaNae (Jim) Howard and Vonda (Brent) Blackburn.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Pete & Hazel Stewart, and her grandson Dax Gubler. We wish to acknowledge the care given to our mom by the Mountain View Rehab Center, Valley Hospital, and numerous therapists. They provided loving care and made a difficult situation bearable. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS Church Humanitarian and/or Perpetual Education Fund.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, March 26th, from 5-7 pm at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 27th, at 10 am at the Charleston LDS chapel, 3400 W. Charleston, with a viewing from 9:00-9:30am.  Interment will take place at the LaVerkin City Cemetery.
