I had a few classes with Betsi during our 3 years in high school. Betsy was the first friend I knew that got contact lenses our sophomore year, I believe. I remember going home and having the discussion of contacts because "everyone wears them" I quickly changed my mind when I saw Betsi's eyes just watering all the time. Her poor eyes! I asked her everyday why her eyes watered so. She told me she had to use eye drops several times a day to keep her eye moist. She said she was not going to give up, because apparently she and her mom had quite a discussion because they were expensive. She said her mom had FINALLY given in. Betsy was not going to lose the battle. After she got used to them , we laughed about it. But she still pulled out her glasses when the Vegas sand storms blew. She was a fun person, quiet until you got to know her. Rest in peace, friend.
