I didn't know Tyrone well, but he seemed like a great guy, self-confident, a lot of friends.  His father ran a used car lot, Teddy Havas Motors on Boulder Highway, featured himself on TV commercials.  "Next we have a '62 Rambler wagon, two-tone copper and tan, fold-down seats, one-owner, 19,000 original miles, white sidewalls, Amana air conditioning.  Weekend special, $995."  (Actually Bob Glinski with his Old-World accent caught my attention more than Havas.)  My father knew Teddy, occasionally performed minor upgrades on the lot like building a wooden platform next to the sales trailer.  I went along to help with the cement footing.  Tyrone was there, a salesman at 19, pointed out a Jaguar convertible a customer had finally lost patience with, just traded down for an American car.  He definitely talked the talk, knew the value of any car, came on like a seasoned veteran.  Instead of Havas paying us for the work I came away with a '63 Chevy Impala SS, perfect condition, $1150 (dealer cost).  Turned out to be a marvelous car, but the bucket seats didn't do anything for my romantic aspirations.

Craig.   Could you write some comments on as many of our class as you can remember so we can read them before we pass?  I fear if we wait there would be an amazing treasure chest of information lost forever!!

Thanks for sharing so much.  God bless.  Bill
