  Lawrence "Larry, Pepop" Henry Shappie, 69, left this world on January 26, 2017 after his battle with cancer. He was born October 23, 1947 to Delbert and Mary in Versailles, Ohio. He was a 45 year resident of Las Vegas, NV.
He is survived by his wife Michelle of 46 years, his daughter Linda (husband, Rey), son Michael (wife, Michelle), grandchildren Leah, Jessica, Koryssa, Daniel, Aaron, Brittnai, Christopher, Blake, and Lauryn; his great-grandchildren Dillin, Allison, Trevor, McKinley, McKenna, and Adam. He was preceded in death by his father Delbert, brother Frank, sister Doris, and mother Mary.
He was an accomplished precision machinist and owned F and LS Tooling for 45 years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He could fix anything, he liked what he did, doing Sudoku, boating, spending time with his family, and singing to his grandkids.
Viewing will be 1-2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, with service following, both at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

I didn't know Larry in high school, but I was paired with him at the Golden Grads ceremony. As we walked onto the field, there was a huge cheer for him from the stands---his kids, grandkids, and great-grandchildren were all there. I'm sure that he took great pleasure in that. A nice guy.
