Jack was a very gregarious, friendly guy and a good story teller.  He was fond of reminding people that DeanMartin was also from Steubenville. Jack didn’t seem to be afraid try anything
that life had to offer.  I hope his 44 years were full ones.

Based on online resources, Jack was employed as a botanist.

In 1968, I moved to San Francisco’s Upper Haight Street (17th & Cole Street). I was walking down the street and heard a familiar voice. It was JACK FISHER at the bus stop. I stopped and talked to him. He and his wife moved to the Haight and his wife just came home from the hospital with her new baby Alexander. They lived a few blocks from where I lived, so I visited them a few days later. I didn't see them after that. Many years later, I was visiting my good friends in Santa Barbara and I heard that voice again. I saw Jack a few times in SB at parties. I met Alex again who was about 18 or 20 years old. Years later, my friends said they thought Jack died in a car accident. It’s a small world.

My friends said Jack was a famous botanist who discovered or invented a grass that holds beach sand from blowing. The roads in SF by the ocean were often closed from sand covering them when it was windy. I don't know if that was true about Jack but I hope it was. (Being a famous botanist.
