 Dixie Lee Reese was born July 3,1947 in Las Vegas, the only child of parents Dixie Ewell and Mable (McEuen) Reese, formerly of New Mexico.
She graduated in 1965 from Las Vegas High School, where she was actively involved in school activities and organizations, and was elected Homecoming Queen her senior year in 1964. She attended University of New Mexico and completed the Dental Hygienist Program, graduating in 1969. She practiced in Las Vegas prior to moving to Berkeley, California in the late 1970s to continue her career.
Dixie passed away from cancer in Berkeley on May 6, 2003 at age 56. She was survived by her mother Mable Reese, of Las Vegas.

Dixie graduated from the University of New Mexico Dental Hygienist Program and practiced in Las Vegas for many years. She moved to Northern California in the late seventies and lived in Berkeley and Oakland where she continued her career.
Dixie and I were friends since 7th grade at John C. Fremont Junior High. She was a very special person, and a wonderful friend. Her smile and outgoing personality were contagious. If you ever met Dixie... you would never forget her. May her memory be a Blessing for all.

Dixie was enrolled in a seminary in north Berkeley when I last saw her in the 70s; she was thoughtful and happy. I miss her too.
