Paul Arnold Murry was born January 13, 1947 in St. George, Utah to parents Charma Waite of Bunkerville, Nevada and Cecil Gale Murry of Jefferson City, Missouri.  The family moved to Bunkerville, where they lived for five years before moving to Las Vegas, NV in 1954.

 

Paul lived at 1400 Sweeney Avenue with his parents, brothers Carl and Harris, and sister Monja, for the remainder of his school years.  He attended John S. Park elementary, John C Fremont Jr. High, and graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1965.

 

Paul married Cheryl Lavaughn Evans on November 20, 1965.  He enlisted in the Navy Seabees and completed two tours to Vietnam as combat engineer during his service.  He and Cheryl bought their home on Montibello in 1972, where she still resides today.  There they raised four loving children - Bryan, Belinda, Bryce and Brandon – and watched the family grow as several grandchildren came along.

 

Paul began a life-long career with Western Airlines which then became Delta Airlines, from which he retired.  He enjoyed the outdoors, spending lots of time with his children camping, hiking, and most enthusiastically fishing. 

 

He had finished an 8-month chemotherapy program and was doing well.  They started a second, less aggressive round of treatment but he suffered from liver failure as well.  Paul passed away peacefully on June 10, 2016, surrounded by family, and with his wife’s hand in his.

 

Services were held at Davis Funeral Home June 15, 2016.
