In Memory

Linda Mohler (Allen)

Submitted by Judy Dennison Wolferts

Linda was a friend in junior high and high school.

Linda Ruth Mohler Allen passed away May 19, 2012, at the age of 65. She was born April 19, 1947, in Los Angeles to Charles and Daisy Mohler. As the youngest of seven children, Linda was born to a home full of love and laughter. Her dearest friends were her sisters, Miriam, Lois, Lillian, and Carol, her two brothers, Eldon and Gary, and her childhood friend (who later became her sister-in-law) Linda Lee Griffitts.

The family moved to Las Vegas soon after Linda's birth. Linda shared recollections of her happy days on Biltmore Drive in Las Vegas throughout her lifetime. Linda attended Brigham Young University where she met her eternal sweetheart Thomas Arthur Allen. Linda and Tom married on February 5, 1969, in the Salt Lake Temple.

The couple lived in Bakersfield, California and eventually moved to Orem, Utah where they raised their five children. Linda was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings, including years of loving service in the Primary. Linda often expressed that her greatest peace came from knowing her children are active members of the Church who love and serve the Lord.

Linda was a welcoming and loving person. She made friends feel like family. Her 14 grandchildren were a source of great joy. Although Linda endured many years of poor health, she stayed happy and hopeful. Tom was her devoted companion. Her family was assisted in countless ways by Linda's dear Relief Society sisters, Priesthood leaders, neighbors, friends, and family. For this care, Tom and his children extend heartfelt thanks.

Linda is survived by her loving husband, Tom; son, Dave (Robin); grandchildren Olivia, Jake, Colby; son, Scott (Cher); grandchildren Kaleb, Katie, Jonathan, Max, Sara; daughter, Stacy (Jared Walker); grandchildren Jenna, Abby, Ethan, Sadie; daughter, Lisa LaFleur; grandchildren Conner, Brynn; son, Jared; sisters, Lillian and Carol; brothers, Eldon and Gary; and many nieces and nephews who will forever adore their Aunt Linda.

Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Wednesday, May 23 from 7-9 p.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home at 646 East 800 North in Orem. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church at 762 East 1200 North in Orem. Prior to funeral services, a viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Orem City Cemetery. Please send condolences to the family at walkersanderson.com.

Linda and I grew up on Biltmore together until my family moved to Hassett in 1954.  We were the best of friends.  She had a great family and we had a lot of fun together.

My memories of Linda are entirely from LVHS where we shared a few classes.  She was always a pleasant and caring person.
