John Arthur Jersey, son, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, passed away from complications of triple bypass heart surgery at Desert Springs Hospital in his hometown of Las Vegas on Monday, May 14, 2018. He was born in Beaver County Pennsylvania, on February 3, 1947 and relocated to Las Vegas at the age of 14.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Jersey; father, Leroy Jersey; mother, MaryAnn Lenhart; step-father Joseph Lenhart; and daughter Tiffany Jersey.

He is survived by John H. and Christina Jersey of Las Vegas; Don and Lovene Jersey; Kristin Jersey of Utah; Debra Jersey Klaus and Brian Klaus of California; Ron and Lisa Jersey, Larry Jersey and Bridget Parkington of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

John graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1965 and studied at UNLV. He served in the Vietnam War, was with S2 (Army) at 5th Special Forces Group, Former LRRP at 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team (also known as Sky Soldiers), and was a former Firefighter/Paramedic at the Clark County Fire Department. Some of his many accomplishments include 2 Purple Hearts, 2 Bronze Stars, 1 Silver Star, 1 Cross of Gallantry while serving in the war and many more.

A funeral service in memory of John will be held on June 1, 2018 from 11:00 - 1:00pm at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Las Vegas, NV.
