Obituary found in Las Vegas Sun April 24, 1967:

Jack Wayne Hess, 21, of 1913 Canosa died Friday, April 12 [1967] in Vietnam.  He was serving in the Army as Specialist 4 with the Signal Corps.

Mr. Hess was born November 12, 1946 in Fresno, California to parents Francis W. and Virginia (Robinson) Hess.  He was an 18-year resident of Las Vegas and graduated in 1965 from Las Vegas High School.

He is survived by his parents; a sister, Sue Lancaster of Las Vegas; and paternal grandparents, Jack and Lucille Hess, in California.

A military chaplain from Fort Irwin, California will officiate at today’s services, at 1 pm in Palm Chapel.  Burial will be in Paradise Memorial Park.
