Ronald Garman (Ron)

May 12, 1947 – January 30, 2024

Ronald Garman, a kind and generous man to all, passed away at the age of 76 due to complications of pancreatic cancer. He was a generous and loving husband, father, grand-father, brother, and friend. He touched the lives of anyone who knew him, and his legacy will continue forevermore by all of us who loved him.

Ron was born on May 12, 1947, in Algona, Iowa to Arthur and Gail Garman.  He was brother to three other siblings: Jan, John, and Richard.   Ron was a dedicated math teacher for 30 years with the Clark County School District.  His story of rising from meager beginnings to starting a successful business, raising a beautiful family, and being a dedicated teacher truly shows the committed and generous person Ron was.

One of Ron's great joys in life was traveling, and the stories he shared with his grandchildren of seeing the world will never be forgotten.  At the age of 21 he began traveling the world, and not long after making memories for several decades alongside his wife.  The family vacations that his loved ones were able to experience with him filled his spirit including sharing grand, delicious meals with them.   He always shared just how special these small moments meant to him, and that they would never be forgotten.

Ron's proudest legacy was his family, whom he loved fiercely and who loved him so deeply in return.  His life revolved around the love of his life, Margo Crabbe Garman, to whom he was married for 51 years; and his two daughters Tara and Leslie. There was never a moment that he did not put them first.  As his family continued to grow with two sons-in-law and numerous grandchildren, Ron always found a way to make each of them know they were special.

To know Ron, was to love him.  He will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who cared for him.   And every day that goes by those who were touched by him and his kindness will remember just what a special  person Ron Garman was.
