Sept. 8, 1947 - May 7, 1996   Dave Lowel Demchuk, 48, Makoti, North Dakota, died Tuesday, May 7, 1996, in his home. He was born Sept. 8, 1947, in Minot, North Dakota, to Alex and Emma Demchuk. He was raised and educated in Makoti. He moved to Las Vegas for health reasons and graduated from high school there. 

He entered the Army in 1968 and served in Vietnam, where he received the bronze star and purple heart. He was discharged in 1970 and returned to North Dakota and attended the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton.

He then went to work for Thermo King of Minneapolis. He traveled extensively as a factory representative for that company to China, South America, Kuwait, Australia, Taiwan, and throughout the United States.

He married Rose Metcalf in 1989 in Las Vegas. They lived in Dallas until he retired in 1993. He then returned to Makoti and started his own business, D & T Services, with his nephew, Tim Snyder. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also restored vintage cars.

Survivors: wife, Fargo; son, Kenneth, Fargo; stepdaughters, Ann Adair, Dallas, Rowdi Hildebrand, Gardner; Mother, Emma Franklund, Makoti; Sister, Elaine Snyder, Makoti. Funeral: Saturday at 11 a.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
