After a brief marriage in 1967 to Keith Pushard in Las Vegas, Karen moved to Southern California near her father.  In 1980 she married Willie David Marsh whose family was from the Bakersfield/Wasco area.  Shortly thereafter the couple moved to Colorado, settling in Lakewood by 1983.  Karen was a secretary at Gas and Oil Refinery.

She passed away March 16, 1994 at Allison Health Care Center in Lakewood, having lost her battle with melanoma cancer.  She was survived by her husband, Willie; one sister, Theresa Calvin of Wheat Ridge, CO; one nephew and one niece.

Services were held March 21 at St. Jude Catholic Church; the body was cremated.  In lieu of flowers, donations were requested to be made to the American Cancer Society.

I remember Karen very well; mostly her laughter.  I think of her often, which is surprising because we were not close friends. She was a very sweet, kind soul.
